Rooted in Chile. Reimagined for the outdoors.
The Atacama model represents the original physical expression of the TatioBath concept.
Conceived as a compact personal steam space, it offers both functional precision and experiential intention. Its form is simple and contained, yet designed to create a deliberate moment of warmth, pause, and restoration.
Whether placed indoors or within a natural outdoor setting, it invites the user to experience steam not merely as heat — but as ritual.
Designed as a refined modular system, allowing efficient transport, simplified assembly, and structural precision.
The Roots of the Ritual
The personal steam cabinet has deep roots in Chilean natural health traditions.
In the late 20th century, advocates of natural medicine such as Manuel Lezaeta Acharán emphasized the use of steam bathing as part of a holistic approach to well-being. Within this context, the wooden steam “box” was intentionally designed to allow the head to remain outside the enclosure — enabling the body to receive concentrated steam while maintaining fresh air breathing.
Over time, practitioners continued refining this practice. TatioBath emerges from this lineage, carrying forward the structural principle while reinterpreting it for contemporary living.
What began as a health-oriented tradition is now evolving into a personal outdoor ritual — adaptable, intentional, and deeply individual.
The Head-Outside Steam Principle
Unlike traditional enclosed steam rooms, TatioBath preserves the natural connection between body and environment.
The body receives deep steam heat while the head remains outside — allowing breath, awareness, and sensory presence.
That simple architectural distinction transforms the experience into a ritual.
The concept draws inspiration from traditional European and Latin American natural health practices, where steam bathing has long been used as a ritual of renewal and balance.
